FAIRMONT -- A funeral service for Edward R. Gersch, Jr., 88, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held 11 a.m. on Sept. 22, at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Following the service, full military honors will be provided by the Lee C. Prentice American Legion Post 36 and Martin County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1222. A private family burial will be at Welcome City Cemetery.
Gersch passed away Tuesday evening, Aug. 30, 2022, at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong, Iowa. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sept. 21, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont, and one hour prior to the service Sept. 22, at the church. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
