SANDSTONE -- Susan Emily Kahler, age 70, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Sandstone Health Care Center in Sandstone, Minn. A graveside service for Susan will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022, at Center Creek Cemetery, rural Granada, Minn. Following the service, there will be lunch in the shelter house at the city park in Granada.
Susan was born March 3, 1952, in Fairmont, Minn. Susan lived in the Fairmont, Minn. area until 2007 when she moved to the Brainerd, Minn. area to be closer to family. In her younger years, Susan enjoyed showing her artistic abilities through her paintings. She enjoyed reading, adult coloring books and she loved horses. Susan took great pleasure in writing and receiving letters from family and friends. She is survived by her sister, Deb (Tom) Sampson of Baxter, Minn.; her niece, Jamie Sampson; her nephew, Phillip Sampson; great-nephew, Reef Sampson; her uncle, Lawrence Warriner; and many cousins. Susan was preceded in death by her mother, Lavonne Kahler; several aunts and uncles; and her grandparents. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Susan may be made to Heartland Animal Rescue (HART), 15494 Dellwood Dr., Baxter MN 56425.
