HUNTLEY -- A private service will be held for Barbara A. Kelly, 70, of Huntley, Minn. Burial will be in Center Creek Cemetery, rural Granada, Minn. A public visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont.
Barbara passed away Friday, Aug. 5, 2022, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, Minn. Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Barbara Ann Kelly was born Feb. 19, 1952, to Everett and Phyllis (Hardt) Kelly in Buffalo Center, Iowa. After her mom was remarried to Maurice "Blackie" Theobald, Sr., they later moved to Huntley, Minn., where she was raised by her parents. She graduated from Granada Huntley in 1971. Barbara worked at Gunthers in the meat department for several years and then worked for REM Heartland as a caregiver for vulnerable adults for 34 years until she retired. Barbara was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont. She loved to garden and landscape. She will be remembered as a kind and faithful person and was always a caretaker to many people. Barbara enjoyed visiting with family and friends and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren who were the light of her life. She also loved to spoil her dog, Gidget. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Nicole (Cody) Leiding; grandchildren, Parker, Payton and Tate Leiding; siblings, Launa (Tim) Hilbert, Butch (Jo) Theobald, Jr., and Cheryl (Warren) Tabatt; nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett Kelly, Phyllis (Hardt) Theobald and Maurice "Blackie" Theobald, Sr.; brother, Colin Kelly; and brother-in-law, Willis Shumski.
