SHERBURN -- Celebration of Life services to honor the life of Marcella M. Brolsma, 84, of Sherburn, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sherburn, with Pastor Steven D. Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Sherburn Cemetery.
Marcella was called to her eternal rest Monday evening, Aug. 1, 2022, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont, Minn. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022, at the Kramer Family Funeral Home in Sherburn. Marcella Mae Scroggin was born April 5, 1938, in Litchfield, Meeker County, Minn., her parents were Carter and Margarete (Groth) Scroggin. She received her education in Sherburn and graduated with the class of 1956. On July 2, 1955, she was united in marriage to LeRoy Brolsma at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sherburn, Minn. After their marriage they lived in state of Virginia while LeRoy served in the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge. They moved back to Minnesota where they lived and raised their family. In 1963 they moved to a farm in rural Trimont. They later moved to Sherburn where Marcella was employed at the Country Café in Sherburn. In 2013, she became a resident of Temperance Lake Ridge in Sherburn. LeRoy died on July 22, 2017. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Sherburn. Marcella greatly enjoyed gardening, going for drives to check the crops, and going to prime rib and steak nights in Sherburn. She also enjoyed playing 500 in a neighbor hood card club in rural Trimont. She is survived by her two daughters, Marcia (Jerry) Glidden of Trimont, Minn., and Denise (Dan) Faber of rural Sherburn, Minn.; son, Tim (Diane) Brolsma of rural Welcome, Minn.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jeremy (Sarah) Glidden and their family, Nic Miller, Kayden Glidden, Carson Glidden; Mandy (Mark) Bosacker and their family, Jordan Bosacker and Rudie; Angie (Ryan) Pieri and their family, Grant, Elly and Ava; Stacy (Adam) Garbers and their family, Olivia, Lainey, Violet and Elise; Lance (Nicole) Brolsma and Everett; Alexis Brolsma and special friend, Kevin Bruening; brothers-in-law, Raymond (Karen) Brolsma of Sherburn, Richard (Shirley) Brolsma of Fairmont, Marlin Brolsma of Blaine, Minn.; sisters-in-law, Norma Brolsma of rural Sherburn, Florine Brolsma of Sherburn, Marilyn Wert of Wayzata; other relatives and friends. Marcella was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LeRoy Brolsma; sister, Luella Wallace; grandson, Andrew Glidden; and other relatives.
