David passed away Monday evening, Aug. 1, 2022, at his home in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

David Lee McGranahan was born Dec. 30, 1955, in Fairmont, Minn., the son of Arland and Wanda (Willard) McGranahan. David attended public schools in Granada, Fairmont, and Trimont before graduating from Trimont High School in 1974. On June 20, 1998, David was united in marriage to Ann Ehlert. David welcomed stepchildren, Beth and Jeremy into his life. The couple resided in Fairmont where David worked as a line supervisor for MRCI before his retirement in January of 2018, after 27 years. David was a member of the Universal Life Church Ministries as well as the Paint Horse Association. Much of David’s life revolved around horses. He was very active raising horses as well as training and showing them. Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Ann McGranahan; stepchildren, Beth (Josh) Leiding, and Jeremy Zimmer; grandchildren, Jaiden Leiding (Dylan Gerken), Gabby Leiding, Saige Leiding, Mollie Leiding, Madeline Zimmer, and Noah Zimmer; sister, Debra (Curly) Mason; mother-in-law, Pat Ehlert; brother-in-law, Jeff (Kim) Ehlert; sisters-in-law, Paula McGranahan, Debbie Erickson, Lori (Connan) Lee, and Terri Ehlert; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.
