FAIRMONT -- A memorial visitation for Bruce J. Goraczkowski, age 68, of Fairmont, Minn., will be from 1-3 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont, with a prayer service at 3 p.m. Inurnment will follow in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, East Chain, Minn.
Bruce passed away of natural causes on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at his home in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Bruce James Goraczkowski was born March 11, 1954, in Fairmont, Minn., the son of David and Dolores (Newville) Goraczkowski. Bruce attended East Chain Public Schools and graduated from East Chain High School in 1972. After high school, Bruce lived on the family farm in rural East Chain where he helped his dad farm. He then sold feed for Walnut Grove Feed before working at 3M in Fairmont. Bruce then attended Jackson Vocational Technical School where he received training which led him to being a technical writer for Railway Motors which later became HARSCO in Fairmont. After Bruce's retirement in 2020, he was able to spend some time helping local farmers whether it was spraying, driving grain carts or other field work. During his free time, he enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, canning, and sharing his vegetables with his neighbors. Bruce also loved woodworking. Along with fretwork, he created some furniture, wall hangings, and other pieces that he made for family members. Left to cherish his memory include his siblings, Mary (Garry) Barvels, Ruth Ann (Gary) Helling, Barbara Owen, Patricia (Kurt) Steuber, Carol (Kirt) Martin, Sharon (Anthony) Scheff, and Tom Gorsma; sister-in-law, Dolores Goraczkowski; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Along with his parents, David and Dolores Goraczkowski, Bruce was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen in infancy; brother, Phillip Goraczkowski; and nephews, Nathan Owen, and Cayden Burud.
