FAIRMONT -- A funeral service for Arlene P. Lindell, 90, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Burial will be in Lake Belt Cemetery, rural Ceylon, Minn. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Arlene passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Arlene Phyllis Schmidt was born to Charles and Freida Schmidt on Sept. 27, 1931, and was baptized Nov. 1, 1931. Arlene attended and graduated from the Ceylon Public School System. After graduating, she was united in marriage to Wayne Lindell on Aug. 28, 1949. Arlene worked as a nursing assistant, ward clerk, and helped run their family farm. Arlene and Wayne had two children, Ronald (Ruthann) Lindell of San Tan Valley, Ariz., and Peggy (Dale) Bremer of Fairmont, Minn. She had six grandchildren, Sarah (Ryan) Schneider, Renee (Kevin) Harper, Nathan (Kate) Lindell, Timothy Bremer, Candace Bremer and Crystal (Reid) Unke. Arlene also had 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Arlene was preceded in death by husband, Wayne Lindell; parents, Charles and Freida Schmidt; in-laws, Swen and Vera Lindell; brother, Jerry Schmidt; sisters-in-law, Barbara Schmidt and Liz Lindell; brothers-in-law, Jerry Lindell, David Lindell, and Dale Lindell; and one great-grandchild. Arlene loved to garden, play golf, read, and especially play bridge. Arlene will be remembered for her pragmatic thinking, sparkle in her eyes when she smiled, and for being an avid Minnesota Twins fan. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
