Elizabeth M. King

FAIRMONT -- Services for Elizabeth "Liz" M. King, 64, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Burial will be in Lura Cemetery near Easton, Minn. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont.

Liz passed away Friday, July 15, 2022, at her home in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Elizabeth M. (Pitcher) King was born Aug. 24, 1957, at the Wells Hospital in Wells, Minn., the daughter of Francis Walter and Dorothy Irene (Pierce) Pitcher. Liz grew up in Easton and attended United South Central School in Wells. Liz lived in Easton for many years before moving to Fairmont to be closer to family. She worked as a member of the MRCI night crew and took great pride in keeping the locations she worked neat and tidy. Liz was smart and witty and enjoyed her quiet time. She loved her family and liked working on word searches. Liz treasured the memories made on trips to watch the Minnesota Twins, to see a Dude Ranch, and her favorite trip was to Branson with her sister. Liz's bubbly personality made it easy for her to make friends wherever she would go. Her favorite eating spot was Perkins and she loved making the rounds and visiting with the staff and regulars. Liz was an avid reader and in recent years enjoyed working on her iPad. Left to cherish her memory are her children; her siblings, June Pitcher and her husband, John Martin of Marshall, Minn., Eugene Pitcher and his wife, Barb of Fairmont, Minn., Carolyn Pitcher of Fairmont, Donald Pitcher of Rush Point, Minn., and Frances Stark of Fairmont; niece, Amber Pitcher; nephew, Nathan Pitcher and special friend, Courtney Kuperus; great-niece and nephews, Jesse, Alex and Laklyn; special friend, Dean Pipke; as well as many other extended family and friends including her extended family at REM. Liz was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Dorothy Pitcher; brother, Ron Pitcher; and sister, Irene Pitcher. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
