FAIRMONT -- A funeral service for Ruby Urban, 97, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park, Fairmont. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, June 30, at Lakeview Funeral Home.
Ruby passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at her home in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ruby Hilma Amanda (Malo) Urban was born March 15, 1925, in Fairmont, Minn., to Herbert and Katharina (Elfert) Malo. She graduated from Fairmont High School in 1943. Ruby was united in marriage to Lorin L. Urban on Sept. 2, 1944, in Northrop, Minn. Ruby and Lorin made their home in Fairmont where Ruby worked for 35 years at 3M in Fairmont. Ruby was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time outside in her flower gardens, feeding and watching birds and collecting glassware, ballerina figurines, and snowmen. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those left to cherish her memory include her three sons, Richard (Anne) Urban of Wimauma, Fla., Kevin (Nancy) Urban of Welcome, Minn., and Curtis Urban of Coconut Creek, Fla.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Katharina Malo; husband, Lorin Urban; son, Michael (Janet) Urban; sisters, Phyllis (Robert) Wedoo, Lorraine (Frank) Koskovich, Beverly (Amos) Dukes and Gladys (Glen) Voyles; brothers, Marvin (Betty) Malo and Robert (Jean) Malo. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
