WINNEBAGO -- Harriet M. Nagel, age 88, passed away Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, at Parker Oaks Senior Living in Winnebago, Minn. A joint memorial service for Harriet and her husband Russ will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, June 30, at Zaharia Family Funeral Home in Truman. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Truman.
Harriet Mathilda was born Aug. 5, 1933, in Antrim Township, to M. Ellsworth and Erma (Schlack) Nelson. She was raised and educated in Lewisville and Truman, graduating from Truman Public School. She was previously a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lewisville. On Jan. 17, 1951, Harriet married Russell A. Nagel. The couple was blessed with one son. Throughout her life, Harriet was a hard worker. She worked at Bachmann's Drug Store in Lewisville, Ron's U-Save in Lewisville, 3M in Fairmont before retiring in 1988, and K-Mart in Fairmont before retiring in 1997. Harriet enjoyed reading and coloring, playing cards, solitaire, and bingo. She also had a love for slot machines. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Perry (Lynn) Nagel of Cotopaxi, Colo.; grandchildren, Shane (Stella) Nagel of Fairmont, and Dustin (Katie) Nagel of Castle Rock, Color.; great-grandchildren, Cody Nagel of Fairmont, and Abby Nagel of Castle Rock, Colo., and Diana Nagel of Castle Rock, Colo.; sisters, Deanna Cole of Mountain Home, Idaho, and Linda (Tom) Boesch of St. Joseph, Minn.; sister-in-law, Ann Nelson of Chaska; step-grandchildren, Dustin (Tabitha) Bicknase, and Callie Randall; step-great-grandchildren, Tyler and Mason Bicknase; many more nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ardella Wenn and Marlene Johnson; brothers, Larry Nelson, Curtis Nelson, and Ronald Nelson. www.zahariafamilyfuneral.com
