Jean M. LeMaire

FAIRMONT– Graveside Services for Jean M. LeMaire, 96, of Fairmont, MN will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 27, 2022 at Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont. Visitation will be held 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, June 27, 2022 at Lakeside Cemetery. Jean passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022, at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont. Memorials are preferred to Maplewood Residence, Meals on Wheels or the donor’s choice. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jean Margaret (Davidson) LeMaire was born on January 26, 1926 to Rev. William and Margaret (Reynolds) Davidson in Winthrop, MN. She lived most of her younger years in Ruthton, MN. She graduated from Le Center High School. After high school, Jean attended Hamline University.

Jean was united in marriage to Harry Severson on November 28, 1946 in Le Center, MN. This union was blessed with six children, Lynn, Tracy, Harriet, David, Wayne and Gary. They made their home in Minneapolis and then moved to Lake Andes, SD. In 1950, they moved to Fairmont, MN. Jean kept busy as a homemaker and then worked a part-time job at Wehler’s Jewelry in Fairmont. Harry passed away in April 1965.

Jean was united in marriage to Juhl Myking in May 1966 in Sioux Falls, SD. Jean attended Jackson Vo-Tech for secretarial work and then joined Juhl as secretary at his plumbing business. Juhl passed away in August 1968.

Jean was united in marriage to Arnold LeMaire in May 1975 in Estherville, IA. Jean worked for the Fairmont Sentinel as a copywriter and eventually Railway Motors as the plant nurse and then telephone operator. Arnold passed away in June 1993.

Jean was united in marriage to Eugene “Ole” Hinz in 2010 in Sioux Falls, SD. Ole passed away in March 2012.

Jean was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and sang for many years in the church choir. She also sang with the Sweet Adelines. Jean was a member of Order of Eastern Star and treasurer for Meals on Wheels. She will be remembered for her love of reading, crossword puzzles, traveling and most of all spending time with family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her six children, Lynn (James) Heilman of Prosperity, SC, Tracy (James) Besmer of Hermitage, TN, Harriet Lunz of Fairmont, MN, David (Sheri) Severson of Rochester, MN, Wayne Severson of Winona, MN, and Gary (Debra) Severson of Oakdale, MN; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother, Rev. T. Warner (Ruth) Davidson of Phoenix, AZ; nieces, nephews and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret Davidson; four husbands, Harry Severson, Juhl Myking, Arnold LeMaire and Eugene “Ole” Hinz; son-in-law, Rick Lunz; brother, William John (Lois) Davidson; and sister, Ruth (Willard) Smith.
