Alan Chester Linge was born Jan. 12, 1947, in Estherville, Iowa, the son of Marvin and Dorothy (Tenhoff) Linge. He attended and graduated from Armstrong High School before going to Iowa Lakes Community College and Iowa State University. Alan was drafted into the U.S. Army. After being honorably discharged, he went to work for Railway Motors/Fairmont Tamper in Fairmont, Minn. for 38 years.

In his free time, Alan enjoyed working on equipment on his hobby farm, collecting brass figurines and attending auctions. Alan is survived by his son, Christopher (Brandy) Linge; grandchildren, Olivia, Chloe, Emma, Lailah, and Baby Linge (due in January); his brothers, Dennis (Phyllis) Linge, and Curtis (Cheryl) Linge; as well as his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Dorothy (Tenhoff) Linge; and his brother, Calvin Linge.
