Delores “Dee” Audrey Sorenson was born March 31, 1930, in Clearwater Township, Minn., to Leonard and Amy (Lindmark) Sorenson. She was the third child of a family of eleven children. Dee married Peter “Pete” F. Jepsen at her Bagley church on Nov. 4, 1949, and they shared 62 years together before Pete passed in 2011. They were blessed with five children: Rhonda Norgaard of Faribault, Minn., Peter L. Jepsen, deceased, Mike (Karen) Jepsen of Fairmont, Minn., Roxi (Scott) Sheldon of Colorado, and Joni (Ken) Aden of Georgia. Dee had 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. From her early years, Dee was a hard worker and carried this strong work ethic through her life. While growing up she babysat as a teen, she worked at Itasca State Park, and after graduation, she was selected to be the secretary for the Superintendent of Schools. She was a master at typing and shorthand and won many competitions. After she married Pete, they moved to Denison, Iowa, Pete’s hometown. They lived there for a brief time and then moved back to northern Minnesota. In 1961, they moved to Fairmont where they remained. From a very young age, Dee’s faith in Jesus was very evident in the life she lived. She was very active in Christian Women’s Club, White Cross, prayer chain, and many Bible studies, which she continued as a resident of Lakeview. We will miss our prayer warrior. Dee was a stay-at-home mom for many years while making a little extra money babysitting and making and selling beautiful Barbie clothes. As time went on, she began working beside Pete in his costume jewelry business. She loved going out East on buying trips. Her last job began in 1983 as the secretary at Bethel Evangelical Free Church. It was a perfect job for Dee and she worked there for 19 years until she retired in 2001.

Dee had a heart full of love ~ for her husband, Pete; her children and their families; her siblings and families; her Bethel Free Church family; her Lakeview Nursing Home staff; many dear friends; and Cheetos, not always necessarily in that order. When able to, Dee loved to sew, embroider, quilt, garden, write letters and scrapbook. She was very organized and loved to do laundry. Now, with physical changes, she enjoyed word find puzzles, all activities at the nursing home, writing letters, visiting with friends and family, and talking on the phone. Oh, how we will miss calling her. Already gone to heaven and can now welcome her home are her husband, Pete (2011); son, Peter L. (2015); parents, Amy and Leonard Sorenson; brothers, Ray, Les, and Gordon Sorenson; sister-in-law, Joyce Sorenson; other extended family and many dear friends. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
