Michael T. Meyer

FAIRMONT — A memorial service for Michael T. Meyer, age 64, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel in Fairmont, with inurnment in Lakeside Cemetery, Fairmont. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday at the Lakeview Funeral Home.

Michael passed away Wednesday evening, May 18, 2022, at his home in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Michael Todd Meyer was born Nov. 21, 1957, to Gerald and Joy (Rosenwinkel) Meyer in Fairmont, Minn. Growing up, he attended school in Fairmont and was a member of the 1977 graduating class from Fairmont High School. Following his high school graduation, he completed some college courses before he was hired at 3M. Michael was employed at 3M for over 34 years and retired in 2017. In 1984, Michael married Brenda Landsteiner. The couple made their home in Fairmont and later divorced. Michael had a wide range of self-taught skills which included electrical work which he thoroughly enjoyed doing. He would often work on vacuums, televisions, and microwaves along with any other electronic devise. He loved music, especially the Beatles and the Monkees, and collected much of their memorabilia. Michael also was an avid antique collector. He often could be found out fishing or riding his motorcycle, as he owned two Yamaha Midnight Series that he was very proud of. Those left to cherish his memory include: his parents, Gerald and Joy Meyer of Fairmont; brothers, Dean (Sherrie) Meyer of Apple Valley, Minn., and Scott (Audra) Meyer of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Boca Raton, Fla.; nieces and nephews, Kristi (Chris) Meyer and their son, Lawrence of Burnsville, Minn., Chelsea (Lucas) Knutson and their children, Camden and Davis of River Falls, Wis., and Cory (Taylor) Meyer of Farmington; aunts, Shari (Jim) Heitz, Judy Meyer, and Lavonne Rozenwinkel; many cousins, other extended family and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Violet and Henry Rozenwinkel, and Eldrid “E.K.” and Elsie Meyer; uncles, Dennis Meyer, Gary Rozenwinkel, and Arlan Meyer; and aunt, Kay Larson.
