Elliott Cole Dewar was born May 21, 1946, in Milaca, Minn., in the county of Mille Lacs, to Sterling A. and Roxie (Elliott) Dewar. He graduated from Truman High School, enlisted right into the U.S. Army and was a part of the Vietnam era and Gulf War era with the U.S. Air Force and retired from the Air Force in 2006. He loved the family farm and loved farming it before he joined the Air Force 133rd Aerial Port Squadron in the Twin Cities. His favorite things to do were to watch war pictures and Westerns (and there was nothing he didn’t know about these subjects). His other passion was building models and gardening. He loved flowers and succulents. Elliot is survived by his wife, Vickie Dewar, whom he married on June 8, 1978, in Truman, Minn.
