Eva Theresa Heffele was born July 10, 1926, to Gofffried and Eva (Diete) Heffele on a farm in Delton Township, Cottonwood County, Minn. She was baptized and later confirmed and attended School District 61 and was united in marriage to Jonas Goossen on Oct. 11, 1944, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake, Minn. After their marriage, Jonas served in the U.S. Army until his discharge and made their home in Mountain Lake. In 1963, they moved to Trimont where they raised their family and Eva was employed at Campbell Soup Company in Worthington. She then was employed at the Trimont Nursing Home and later for Glasstite in Dunnell. Eva was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Trimont Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking and baking in her spare time. Mom Goossen enjoyed having family and friends join her for a delicious cup of egg coffee around the kitchen table, many laughs and issues were solved at that table. The most important thing in Eva’s life was her family. She is survived by her children: daughters, Barb Hampton of Colorado Springs, Colo., Janet (Steve) Jones of Larchwood, Iowa, Glenda (Ron) Homan of Minneapolis, Minn., Vyonne Goossen of Trimont, and Becky (Mark) Stewart of Eagle Lake, Minn.; sons, Roger (Nyla) Goossen of St. James, Minn., Randy Goossen of Northglenn, Colo., Steve (Michelle) Goossen of Benson, Minn.; daughter-in-law, Lisa Brunnette of Rochester, Minn.; 26 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
