Wanda D. Klima
FAIRMONT — A funeral service for Wanda D. Klima, 79, of Fairmont, Minn., formerly of rural Sherburn, Minn., will be 10:30 am. Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn, with Pastor Steven D. Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Sherburn Cemetery. Wanda’s service will be live streamed on St. John’s Lutheran Church website.
Wanda was called to her eternal rest Friday morning, April 8, 2022, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont, Minn. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2022, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. Wanda DuRay Anderson was born Feb. 12, 1943, in Jackson, Minn., to Forrest and Ruth (Carter) Anderson. On Oct. 17, 1948, she was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Jackson. On March 29, 1956, she was confirmed at the First Presbyterian Church in Jackson. Wanda attended school in Jackson, later graduating with the class of 1961. She then attended DeLyle’s Cosmetology School in Fairmont and later worked as a hairdresser in the Fairmont area until moving to the Jackson area. On April 14, 1963, she was united in marriage to James Klima at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lakefield, Minn. In 1969, they moved to rural Sherburn and raised their family. Wanda was employed at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company until it closed and then she was employed at the Martin County Library in Dunnell and later Fairmont. In 1997, she retired and moved to Fairmont and they started spending their winters in Texas. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn, a member of it’s LWML, Friendship Club, and served on its worship committee. Wanda was a member of the Dunnell Study Club and the Salvation Army, and was a volunteer for CREST, volunteer at the Fairmont Hospital, and served on the Sherburn Civic and Commerce board, and was a Girl Scout leader. She greatly enjoyed sewing and doing embroidery work. She is survived by her husband, James Klima of Fairmont, Minn.; their children: daughter, Nora (Siva) Nagalingam of Bunting, Malaysia; sons, Aaron Klima of Sherburn, Minn., Nathan (Sara) Klima of Sherburn, Matthew Klima and friend, Irene Lee of California; and daughter, Bethany (Doug) Faber of Fairmont; son-in-law, Mike Brolsma of Sherburn; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, David Anderson of Jackson, Minn.; brother-in-law, Richard (Myra) Klima of Jackson; sister-in-law, Carolyn (Don) Enstad of Walnut Grove, Minn.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Ruth Anderson; daughter, Amy Brolsma; brother, Dennis Anderson; sister, Karen Dunker; and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, Wanda’s family prefers memorials be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn or the Gideons.
