Ruth Woodall
ST. CLOUD — Ruth Woodall, 80, of St. Cloud, Minn., formerly of Elbow Lake, Minn., died March 14, 2022, at the Gulf Coast Medical Center in Ft. Meyers, Fla. A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minn.
Ruth Frances Konrad was born July 21, 1941, in Jackson, Minn., to Frank and Esther (Goodwin) Konrad. She grew up and attended school in Windom, Minn. On Dec. 6, 1958, Ruth was united in marriage to James Woodall in Flandreau, S.D. Following marriage the couple made their home in Mankato, Minn. Ruth attended nursing school in Mankato and later earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing. In 1970, the family moved to Fairmont, Minn., where she was employed at the Fairmont Hospital. In 1977, the family moved to Elbow Lake, Minn., where she was employed by the Grant County Hospital. In 1988, following James retirement, she worked in several states as a traveling nurse. The couple lived in Arizona during the winter months and in Minnesota during the summer. In 2014, the couple made their home in St. Cloud, Minn. She is survived by her three children, James (Dinae Zellmann) Woodall of Lester Prairie, Minn., Kay (Keith) Fjoslien of Bonita Springs, Fla., Thomas (Donna) Woodall of Apple Valley, Minn.; her faithful four-legged companion, Lola; four grandchildren, Jay Woodall, Andrew Woodall, Natasha (Tom) Hart, Alison (Pete Di Mateo) Fjoslien; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Betty (Kermit) Twait of Windom, Minn.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, James; grandson, Chad Woodall; and brother, Bill Konrad. In lieu of cards or flowers, please give to your local animal rescue or Humane Society.
