Shirley A. Sharp
TRUMAN — Services for Shirley “Toby” A. Sharp, 87, of Truman, Minn., will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. A private family burial will be held at a later date in Ridgelawn Memorial Park Cemetery, rural Truman. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont.
Shirley passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, Minn. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Shirley Ann “Toby” (Raddatz) Sharp was born June 28, 1934, in Truman, Minn., the daughter of Carl and Doris (Clow) Raddatz. Shirley attended school in Truman and graduated from Truman High School. On Dec. 26, 1953, Shirley was united in marriage to Herbert Peter Sharp at the Community Baptist Church in Truman, Minn. Shirley and Herb made their home in Welcome for a short time before moving to Truman where they owned and operated the Truman Locker for many years. Shirley and Herb moved to an acreage east of Truman where they raised many horses and enjoyed the love of their dogs. Following their retirement, Shirley worked at J&R Drug in Fairmont. Shirley loved life on the farm and took great pride in keeping the lawn and grounds of their farm perfect. When not tending to things outdoors, Shirley could be found in the kitchen, where she was an excellent cook and was known for her baked buns. Shirley and Herb treasured spending time together and loved shooting trap and bowling. They enjoyed camping and traveling the United States in their fifth-wheel camper visiting family and friends and making new friends along the way. Shirley loved her family and was incredibly proud of her granddaughters. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jeff Sharp of Truman, Minn,, and Jennifer Barringer and her husband, Rod of Fairmont, Minn.; granddaughters, Ashley Barringer, and Megan Barringer (and special friend Adam); two sisters-in-law, Anna Mae Curry of St. James, Minn., and Sarah Lehman and her husband, Rich of Worthington, Minn.; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Doris Raddatz; husband, Herbert Sharp; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Pauline Sharp; two brothers, Dale Raddatz and Gary Raddatz; sister, Orletha Bosshart; brothers-in-law, Marvin Bosshart, Loren Sharp, Dave Sharp, Louie Nagel and Orlando Curry; sisters-in-law, Donna Jean Nagel, Karen Sharp, and Vernita Sharp; nieces and nephews. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
