Melissa “Missy” Scheid

FAIRMONT– Melissa “Missy” Scheid, age 57, of Fairmont, Minn., died Friday, March 25, 2022, at REM Heartland in Fairmont, Minn. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Nasinec Funeral Home, 789 Business Park Drive in Wells. Public visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at Nasinec Funeral Home. Burial will be in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Easton, Minn., with Fr. Greg Havel and Deacon Gene Paul officiating. Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells is entrusted with arrangements. Missy was born March 17, 1965, at the Wells Municipal Hospital in Wells, Minn., the daughter of Greg and Judy (Brucker) Scheid. She was baptized at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.

Missy worked for MRCI at Mankato and Fairmont and lived at REM in Fairmont. REM was a large part of her life. She received love and attention from all of the REM staff and services. Melissa enjoyed life, whether it was going to work, shopping, getting her hair and nails done, or going out to eat. She is survived by her father, Greg Scheid of Blue Earth, Minn.; siblings, Sara (Gary) Gack II of Easton, Minn., Scott (Renee) Scheid of Winnebago, Minn., and April Scheid of Blue Earth; two nephews, Gary Gack III and Trent Scheid; niece, Jennifer Scheid; two aunts, Margaret (Dale) Sonnek of Winter Park, Colo., and Peggy Brucker of Mankato, Minn.; cousins, Chris (Laura) Sonnek, Devin Sonnek, Colin Sonnek, Jeffery Brucker, Jessica Brucker, Kenzie Brucker, Kaitlyn Brucker and Lea Brucker. Melissa was preceded in death by her mom, Judy Scheid; grandparents, Floyd and Lenore Scheid, Lowell �’Jiggs�” and Betty Brucker; stepmother, Ilene Scheid; uncle, Robert Brucker; and cousin, Todd Brucker.
