Lynn R. Cottew

WELCOME — A celebration of life service for Lynn R. Cottew, 73, of Mankato, Minn., formerly of Ceylon and Fairmont, Minn., will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Kramer Family Funeral Home, 704 First St. in Welcome, Minn. Military honors presented by the Welcome American Legion Post 533 and the Nassen Detert American Legion Post 539 of Ceylon will be held at the Welcome City Cemetery.

Cottew passed away Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022, at the Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna, Minn., after suffering for many years with numerous illnesses. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home in Welcome.

Lynn Ray Cottew was born July 26, 1948, to Irvin and Georgette (Spiegler) Cottew in their home in Ceylon, Minn. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Germany for two years, then reenlisted in the National Guard where he was honorably discharged after 20 years.

Survivors include: his wife, Sheila Cottew of Mankato, Minn.; two sons, Nathan Cottew of Dallas, Ga, and Jacob Cottew of Good Thunder, Minn.; two granddaughters; brothers and sisters, Terry Cottew of Brooklyn Center, Minn., Dennis Cottew of Buffalo, Minn., Mavis Nawrocki of Arlington, Texas, Vickie Gamble of Pambrun Saskatchewan, Canada, Jon Cottew of Jackson, Minn., Michell Ratike of Minneapolis, Minn., and Rick Cottew of Fairmont, Minn.; other relatives and friends.
