Karen was born Jan. 3, 1943, in Fairmont, Minn., to Otto and Irene (Toppenburg) Streit. She graduated from Fairmont High School in 1961. On Sept. 29, 1962, Karen was united in marriage to Larry Blachowske in Fairmont. Karen was an RN at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato and worked for several years for Blue Cross Blue Shield in medical review before retiring at age 59. Karen enjoyed cooking, traveling, and trips to the casino. Most of all, Karen loved spending time with her family. Karen is survived by her husband, Larry; daughters, Pamela (David) Hopp, Jennifer (Ronald) Radtke, Victoria (Scott) Moon, and Kristine Blachowske (Scott Jones); grandchildren, Michael Sutherland (Rachel Iverson), and Megan Sutherland (Alex Klug); great-granddaughter, Justine Welsch; siblings, Elaine (Vern) Rosenberg, Janice (Mac) Stanton, Marge (Jim) Bute, and Steven (Vicky) Streit; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
