Grace Heck
OCONOMOWOC, Wis. — Grace Heck passed away Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, in Oconomowoc, Wis., at the age of 93 years. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Henry Olson Funeral Chapel in Armstrong, Iowa. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at Armstrong Grove Cemetery, rural Armstrong, with Vicar Kim Campbell as Officiant.
Grace was born April 18, 1928, in Wilbert, Minn., daughter of Sophia and John Robinson. Grace graduated from Fairmont High School. In 1947, she married Delmer Heck in Duluth, Kansas. The couple made their home and raised their children in Armstrong, Iowa, before retiring in Florida. Delmer died in 2007. By 2016, Grace moved to Oconomowoc, Wisconsin to be near family. Grace was an outgoing, joyful woman who added fun and fancy to everything she did. Her laughter erupted through her entire body. She gave the biggest squeezes and wore a signature scent. Grace had a deep dedication to her faith, family, and friends. She and Del served their churches, Nazareth Lutheran in Armstrong and Holy Cross Lutheran in Spring Hill. They visited children and relatives on summer road trips and hosted guests in their Florida home. Grace dutifully kept up with written correspondence. She loved to write and receive letters. Grace and Del maintained a vibrant social circle of life-long friends with whom they shared much laughter and love. Grace’s true passion was hand quilting and sewing. She kept quilts on the frame and appliqued blocks in her lap until the early morning hours. She enjoyed watching and attending sporting events and the Wheel of Fortune. Grace loved to read and learn. She placed a high value on education. Grace is survived by her children, Steven (Nancy) Heck of Armstrong, Iowa, Larry (Arla) Heck of Oconomowoc, Wis., Sheri (Dean) Stormer of Bridgewater, Iowa, and Gary (Debbie) Heck of Cook, Minn. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Her siblings Wanda Honig and Ellen Burnett also survive her. Grace was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; grandson, Jory Heck; great-granddaughter, Amelia Oligschlaeger; and her siblings, Lois Troxell, Will Robinson, Gladys Ford, Luther Robinson, and Jim Robinson.
