Ross A. Hoelmer

PORTERVILLE, Calif. — Ross Anthony Hoelmer, 62, formerly of Trimont, Minn., passed away Friday, Jan. 21, 2022. A memorial service is scheduled for April 2, 2022, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Danville, Calif. Interment will take place April 5 in his father’s plot at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, Calif.

Ross was born Feb. 28, 1959, in Trimont, Minn., to Lowell and Lavon Hoelmer. Ross entered this world with special needs and as a result he was unable to attend school with others his age, but he participated actively in various social and work programs throughout his life, and he especially enjoyed attending summer camps in the Santa Cruz mountains and trips to Disneyland. He was very fond of listening to music and attending church with his parents. Ross lived with his parents at their home in Clayton, Calif. until 2002, when he moved to a Good Shepherd of the West group home in Porterville, Calif. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, Lavon of Walnut Creek, Calif.; his brother, Kim and his wife, Maribeth of Newark, Del., and their daughters, Kirsten (Compitello) and Claire, and son Brendan.
