Carol White
TRUMAN — Carol White, age 79, of Truman, passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, at her home. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with Rev. Timothy A. Chase officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Ridgelawn Cemetery, rural Truman.
Carol Ann was born Feb. 10, 1942, to Adolph and Shirley (Harper) Breitbarth in the Truman hospital. She grew up south of town with one sister. As a child, she got polio and spend a few months at Sister Kenny in Minneapolis. In 1949 the family moved to town and Carol graduated from Truman High School. She then went on to beauty school in Fairmont. After graduating beauty school, she worked a short time in Blue Earth but then returned to Truman and worked with her mother. Her mother passed in 1963 but Carol stayed and ran the shop for 10 years. In July of 1969, she married Orville White and in 1973, she moved the shop to their house. Orville passed away in 2021. She retired in 1996 after 45 years as a beauty operator. She was very active in the St. Paul church and school, in the Truman Chamber and museum. Carol is survived by her children, Tiffany (Aaron Urban) Taylor, and Kai White; her grandchildren, Tanner and Tristen Taylor; her sister, Geneva Hughes; as well as several other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orville; and brother-in-law, Dan Hughes. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Carol’s name can be made to the Truman Museum or the Truman Ambulance Department. www.zahariafamilyfuneral.com
