Richard J. Ammann
SHERBURN — A celebration of life service for Richard “Richie” J. Ammann, 85, of Baldwin City, Kan., formerly of Sherburn, Minn., will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn. Military honors will be by the Thomas P. Saxton American Legion Post 356 and Sherburn Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8261 at the church. After the fellowship, burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth, Minn.
Ammann died Thursday morning, Dec. 23, 2021, at Baldwin Healthcare & Rehab Center in Baldwin City, Kan. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. tonight, Dec. 30, at Kramer Family Funeral Home in Sherburn and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Kramer Family Funeral Home in Sherburn is in charge of arrangments.
Richard Joseph Ammann was born March 23, 1936, on a farm in rural Elm Creek Township, Martin County, Minn., to Alonzo and Jeanette Ammann along with his twin brother Ralph. He served in the Army National Guard of Minnesota.
Survivors include: his son, Darron Ammann of Lawrence, Kan.; three grandchildren; sister-in-law, Grace Ammann of Pine City, Minn.; and many other extended family and friends.
