Jessica Julig-Weedman

OSAKIS — Jessica “Jess” Julig-Weedman lost her courageous battle with ovarian cancer on Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021. She was 37 years old. A funeral service for her was held Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osakis, Minn., with burial following the service at the church cemetery.

Jessica was born Aug. 30, 1984, at Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, Minn., to Fred and Rose Julig. She was youngest of the four kids (James, Jeffrey, and Monica). She graduated from Osakis High School in 2002. Jess then began her educational journey at the University of Minnesota Morris and continued at Alexandria Technical College (Licensed Practical Nursing, Registered Nurse), Moorhead State University (Bachelors of Nursing), and the University of Minnesota Twin Cities (Doctorate of Nursing Practice). In 2010, she married her husband, Eric Weedman. They have two children, Lincoln and McKinley. Jess was so excited as her and Eric’s kids got older and she could watch them in all their activities. She was the loud mom and loved every minute of it. As a wife, Jess and Eric had a fun-loving marriage and kept things light and fully supported each-other unconditionally. Jess enjoyed spending time with her family at their cabin, riding on the pontoon and jet ski, and pulling the kids tubing. Jess was the ultimate host and loved to cook meals and plan family gatherings. Everyone always had enough to eat and drink when Jess was around. Jess loved hanging out, playing yard games, and visiting with anyone who would talk with her. Anyone who spent even a few minutes with Jess instantly loved her. She wore her emotions on her sleeve and you always knew where you stood. Jess enjoyed working as a Family Nurse Practitioner, where she helped and supported numerous patients. She was extremely empathetic as she knew first-hand how challenging medical situations could be. It was one of the hardest things she experienced when she had to step back from her practice. Jess recently got into crafting with her Cricut making numerous sayings and t-shirts for herself, friends, and family. She also enjoyed CrossFit, gardening and has amassed a large variety of houseplants and has worked hard to have a green thumb like her mom. The thing that Jess loved the most was helping others. She would answer calls and texts at all hours of the day and night to ensure that her people were taken care of. She was the first to ask what you need and drop everything to help. She will be incredibly missed by all that knew and loved her. Jess is survived by her husband, Eric; children, Lincoln and McKinley; parents, Rose and Fred Julig; siblings, James, Jeffery (Ashley), Monica (Rodney); five nephews, Brandon, Austin, Bauer, Eli, and Max; and her father-in-law, Kevin Weedman. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; and mother-in-law, Marilyn Weedman. www.itenfuneralhome.com
