Bruce E. Behne

FAIRMONT — Bruce E. Behne passed away peacefully Saturday night, Oct. 30, 2021, at home with his wife, Janette, at his side. A private funeral service will be held at a later date.

Bruce was born Nov. 3, 1932, in Triumph, Minn. He played basketball at Jackson High School and continued on scholarship at Worthington Junior College. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and kept up his lifelong value of patriotism through volunteering at DAV and American Legion. Bruce was a successful businessman managing various grain elevators with Cargill and Pillsbury. He ventured into several restaurant businesses with Janette and were well known for their homemade food and cleanliness. In retirement, Bruce and Janette drove all over the United States in their RV and enjoyed taking the road less travelled.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Janette; six children, Vicky Behne of Mesa, Ariz., Debra Roben of Mesa, Ariz., Kim Behne of Rogers, Ark., Jeff Behne (Bob Gillam) of Palm Springs, Calif., Alisa Behne (Alok Sharma) of Sarasota, Fla., and Dr. Naomi Behne (Chuck Blair) of West Des Moines, Iowa. He will be missed by his 22 grand and great-grandchildren and his siblings, Dr. Charlene Behne of Circle Pines, Minn., the late Carroll Behne of Sherburn, Minn., Noel Behne (Fran) of Corrales, N.M.; the late Nathan Behne (Dorothy) of Sherburn, Minn.
