Cara Nicole Cutler Christians

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Cara Nicole Cutler Christians, 25, of Sioux Falls, S.D., formerly of Watertown, S.D., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Watertown. Rev. Janine Rew-Werling and Rev. Craig Werling will officiate. Music will be provided by Lynn Osthus as pianist with Shawn McCall as soloist. The service will be Live-Streamed and Facebook Live via the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel website. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Honorary pallbearers will be: Claire Cutler, Brenna Cutler, and the Watertown Police Department. Active pallbearers will be: Jarek Cutler, Brandon Jensen, Derrek Russenberger, Kyle Gall, Dustin Holt, and Eyasu Tesfaye.

Cara was born Dec. 19, 1995, in Watertown, S.D., to Connie Cutler and Michael Christians. She attended school in Watertown, and graduated from Watertown High School in 2014. Cara graduated from South Dakota State University in 2019, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Development and Family Studies, with a minor in Rehabilitation. Cara worked at Joy Ranch in Watertown until moving to Sioux Falls. She worked at McCrossan Boys Ranch and other various jobs. Cara was an avid basketball fan, especially the NBA. She loved animals, photography, traveling with her mother, and talking with her friends.

Cara is survived by her parents, Connie Cutler and Michael Christians, both of Watertown, S.D.; her maternal grandparents, Ken (Kay) Cutler of Trimont, Minn.; her paternal grandparents, Arlo (Shirley) Christians of Twin Brooks, S.D.; two aunts, June Cutler and Barbara Christians; two uncles, Nick Cutler and Keith Christians.
