Lori Lee (Cobb) Marushin

FAIRMONT — Funeral Services for Lori Lee (Cobb) Marushin, 58, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021 at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Fairmont. Burial will be held following the service in Fairmont. Visitation will be held 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021 at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Fairmont. The family requests that people follow the CDC recommendations of wearing masks and be mindful of social distancing. With family at her side, Lori went to be with the Lord Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, at Mayo Clinic Methodist Hospital Rochester, Minn. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lori was born Feb. 3, 1963 at Fairmont Community Hospital, daughter of William “Bill” Willis Cobb and Judith Gayle (Mackey) Cobb. Growing up, her family lived in St. Paul and Prior Lake before Lori moved to Fairmont. At just 16 years old, she met the love of her life, James (Jim) Marushin. She rearranged her life to be with him and they were inseparable ever since. They married on May 11, 1985 in a private ceremony at First Congregational UCC. She completed high school in Fairmont and went on to get an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Minnesota West Community College in Jackson, Minn. She worked for Redi-Haul Trailers for over 25 years in key operational roles. The great joys of her life were her husband, Jim, and children, James, Morgan, and Jami. Lori loved being a grandmother and spending time with friends and family. She also enjoyed road trips, crafting, fishing, sitting by the lake and cheering on her favorite sports teams.

Survivors include her loving husband Jim Marushin; son James (Megan) Marushin; daughters, Morgan (Joe) Christensen, Jami (Shaun) Wahl; sister, Nanette “Joey” (Doug) Beech; grandchildren, Wilhelmina Marushin, Raelee Christensen, Oakley and Harley Wahl; sisters-in-law, Max Wagner, Candace (Marushin) Shahan, Lynn Marushin and Karla Turcott, along with nieces, nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Cobb and Judith Cobb; brother William J “Bill” Cobb; Jim’s parents John Marushin and Ellen Marushin; Jim’s siblings, John (Lynn) Marushin, Joe (Karla) Marushin, and Cindy (Will) Turcott.
