George William was born March 18, 1955 to Robert and Ruth (Tooley) Dollen in Fairmont. Growing up he attended school in Fairmont and was a member of the graduating class of 1973. While in high school he was active in FFA and showed livestock at the county fair. On Aug. 9, 1974 George was united in marriage to Karen McMurtry in Sioux Falls, S.D. This union was blessed with two children, Stacy and Nicholas. George worked various jobs throughout his life, including at the Redwood Chateau Lounge and the Bowl-Mor Lanes in Fairmont. He owned and operated the Goose Family Restaurant from 1997-2008. Following the closure of the Goose Family Restaurant he went back to work at the Bowl-Mor Lanes. In his spare time George enjoyed being on bowling leagues, fantasy football leagues and playing darts.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Karen Dollen of Fairmont; children: Stacy Dollen and Nicholas Dollen; grandchildren: Kelly and Jacob Cronk, Chloe Goodrich, and Arianna Dollen; mother-in-law, Bonnie McMurtry; brothers and sisters in law: Ken Broviak, Maralee Dollen, Vicki (Gene) Boeckman, Carla (Gary) Moore, Wanda (Keith) Waterbury, Jill Jensen, Gary McMurtry, Jeff McMurtry, Steven (Donna) McMurtry, Lyn (Deb) McMurtry, Keith (Joy) McMurtry, and Dannette McMurtry (Mike Breazile); other extended family and friends.

George is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruth Dollen; siblings: James Dollen and Sandra Broviak; father-in-law, Robert McMurtry; and niece, Ashley Waterbury.
