Douglas Darrel Nave

ELMORE — Douglas Darrel Nave, 63, of Elmore, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021 at United Hospital District in Blue Earth.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Patton Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth. Doug was born April 19, 1958 in Blue Earth to Darrel and Beverly (Kark) Nave. He graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1976. Doug then attended and graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter. On May 14, 1983, Doug married Karen Schultz at the catholic church in Easton. The couple moved to their farm site outside of Elmore in 1991 and raised their family there. Together, Doug and Karen owned and operated Double Play Sports Bar and Grill. Doug was also a farmer and enjoyed spending his time taking care of the family farm. He and Karen took many crop tours over the years. Doug loved to tinker and spent much of his free time working on machinery, his toys, and cars. He was very social and enjoyed spending time with Karen, family, and friends. Doug also enjoyed woodworking, game shows, reading, listening to his vinyl’s, traveling to Florida with Karen & family, and watching the grain markets. Most of all, Doug loved and cared for his family.

Doug is survived by his three children, Dan (Becky) Nave of Bricelyn, D.J. Nave of Buffalo Center, and Deidra Nave of Elmore; one granddaughter, Rhea Nave; sister, Judy (Al) Willette; brothers-in-law, Steve Schultz, and Ron (Christine) Schultz; sister-in-law, Sharon (Mark) Obermeyer; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife Karen, parents, and parents-in-law.
