Larry G. Jorgensen
FAIRMONT — A memorial service for Larry G. Jorgensen, 81, of Fairmont, will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel in Fairmont, with military honors provided by Lee C. Prentice American Legion Post 36 and Martin County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1222. Inurnment will take place a later date in Lakeside Cemetery, Fairmont.
Jorgensen died Saturday morning, July 24, 2021, at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Thursday at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Larry Gene Jorgensen was born July 23, 1940, on the family farm in Tenhassen Township, Martin County, Minn., son of Carl and Norma (Wegner) Jorgensen. In 1959, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Korea for 14 months until earning his honorable discharge in May of 1961.
Survivors include: his daughter, Jody Jorgensen; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Jorgensen; and sister, Virginia Heinrich.
