Evelyn was born July 17, 1919, to Carl and Anna (Harms) Anders in Rutland Township. Growing up, Evelyn attended school in Northrop before transferring to St. Paul Lutheran School in Fairmont, where she finished her education. On Nov. 2, 1940, she was united in marriage to Melvin Burmeister. The two began their life together on the farm, where hard work and love built their home. This union was blessed with four children: Wayne, Merle, Dennis and Sharon. Melvin passed away on Nov. 22, 1995. Evelyn worked hard alongside Melvin on the farm for many years while raising their children. Aside from working on the farm she found joy in working in her garden, canning and caring for her many African violets. She was always crocheting something and was a talented quilter. Every Christmas she baked hundreds of peppernuts to give to family, neighbors, and friends. She was always excited about the next trip she could go on. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Left to cherish her memory include her children, Wayne (Marty), Merle (Shirley), both of rural Truman, and Sharon Ziemer of Fairmont; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald Anders; and other extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, Carl and Anna Anders, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Burmeister; son, Dennis Burmeister; sister, Myrtle Armbrust; brother, Marlan Anders; son-in-law, Douglas Ziemer; sisters-in-law, June Anders and Nola Anders; and brother-in-law, Wallace Armbrust. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
