Diane passed away Friday evening, June 18, 2021, at Ingleside in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Diane Marie was born Nov. 16, 1951, in Fairmont, Minn., the daughter of Kenneth and Gladys (Anderson) Nelson. Growing up she attended school in Sherburn, Minn. and was active in the high school band and played the piano. Diane was a member of the 1970 graduating class from Sherburn High School. On Jan. 18, 1970, Diane was united in marriage to Richard Howell at the Sherburn Methodist Church. This union was blessed with three children, Rhonda, Amy and Ryan. She worked as a photography assistant and at Sperry Corporation in Jackson, Minn. before her employment at Aerospace in termination production. After nearly 20 years of being a dedicated employee at Aerospace, and earning the Above and Beyond Award, she was able to retire. Diane and Richard enjoyed spending time outdoors together, especially camping and fishing, taking many trips across the state in their motorhome. She would spend her free time doing cross stitch and word puzzles. Diane also liked to cook and cherished time spent with her family. Left to cherish her memory include her husband, Richard Howell of Welcome, Minn.; children, Amy Howell of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Ryan Howell of Welcome; grandchildren, Christina (Joe) Heyes and Delaney Howell; great-granddaughter, Rialyn Heyes; sisters, Renee Nelson and Joyce Siebring; other extended relatives and many friends.
