Elaine Faye was born Aug. 27, 1928, on their farm in Verona Township, Minn., to Robert and Alice (Seip) Elmore. She was one of 10 children. She attended country school through the 8th grade and then continued her education on the farm, helping her parents wherever needed. She later moved to Blue Earth where she worked for JC Penny for many years as a retail clerk and often assisting in dressing and designing the mannequins in the storefront window. In her spare time, she was an avid bowler and golfer. She even has a plaque on the bowling alley’s “Hall of Fame.” She also enjoyed flowers and gardening. She was a long-time member of the Methodist Church and at the age of 80, she went on a mission trip to Jamaica and para-sailed. She had a deep love for cats and always had several but her deepest love was for all her nieces and nephews. Each one of them holds a special place in her heart. Elaine left an everlasting imprint on all that survive her: siblings, Lorraine Chaffee, Beverly Alfson, Joyce Farrow, Janice DeBoer and Luverne Elmore; her sister-in-law, Marge Elmore; as well as her many cherished nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Donald, Mervin and Maurice; and her sister, Charlotte Robb.
