Louis P. Condron

TRUMAN — A prayer service for Louis Patrick Condron, 81, of Truman, Minn., formerly of Lyme, Conn., will be 1 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2021, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont, Minn., with military honors by Lee C. Prentice American Legion Post 36 and the Martin County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1222. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery near Winnebago, Minn. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2021, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont.

Louis passed away Monday, May 17, 2021, at United Hospital District in Blue Earth, Minn. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Louis “Buddy” Patrick Condron was born May 25, 1939, in Queens, N.Y., the son of Louis Lee and Emma Marie (Hahnel) Condron. He attended school in Queens and graduated from St. Agnes High School in New York, N.Y., with the class of 1957. Lou would go on to further his education by attending El Camino Community College in and earning his associates degree in Torrance, Calif. Lou served his country proudly, serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1959-1965. Upon receiving his honorable discharge, Lou returned to New York where he married Janet Schachter in May 1963. They then took their honeymoon in the 1957 Bel Air Chevy and drove back across the country on Route 66 to Simi Valley, Calif. To this union, two children were born, Susan and Matthew. In 1985, Lou was united into marriage to Delphine Mulcahy in Connecticut. Together the couple made their home in Glastonbury and Lyme, Conn. Lou was incredibly talented when it came to anything mechanical and was a self-taught engineer. He contracted as an engineer with many different companies throughout the years helping to design everything from guns for various gun manufacturers to contributing to the Viking Orbiter project while employed at Jet Propulsion Labs in Pasadena, Calif. in the early 1970’s. Lou loved antiques and found great joy in buying and selling antiques. His passion for antiques led he and Delphine to owning and operating a small antique shop in Rhode Island. Lou also enjoyed photography and woodworking. Through the years, he collected coins and stamps and looked back fondly on the many different muscle cars he owned. Lou is survived by his wife, Delphine (Mulcahy) Condron of Connecticut; daughter, Susan Risk and her husband, Leroy of Truman, Minn.; son, Matthew Condron and his wife, Ivana of Portland, Ore.; stepdaughter, Delphine Cyr and her husband, Don; granddaughter, Matea Odzak Condron; grandsons, Thai Risk and Dylan Risk; step-grandchildren, Brandi (Matt) Guritz, Mindy (Aaron) Schmidtgal, Jessica (Chad) Bell; step-great-grandchildren, Avery and Jaxson Guritz, Lucy, Sadie and Ava Bell; as well as 19 nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Lou really enjoyed taking care of Troubles, his furry, four-legged 5-pound poodle the last several years. Lou was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Lee and Emma Marie Condron; two sisters and their spouses, MaryAnn (Daniel) Holder and Eileen (Gunter) Kuhn; stepdaughter, Jeanette Garneau; as well as other family. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
