Robert E. Brolsma

SHERBURN — A celebration of life service for Robert E. Brolsma, 85, of rural Sherburn, will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn. Burial, with military honors by Thomas P. Saxton American Legion Post 356 and the Sherburn Veterans of Foreigns Wars Post 8261, will be in Sherburn Cemetery, rural Sherburn, Minn.

Brolsma died Tuesday evening, March 23, 2021, at his home in rural Sherburn. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. In order to gather for visitations and services, attendees are asked to maintain safe physical distancing and to please use a face mask. Robert’s service will be live streamed on St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn Facebook page. Kramer Family Funeral Home in Sherburn is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Eugene Brolsma was born Oct. 9, 1935, on a farm in Fox Lake Township, rural Sherburn, Martin County, Minn., to Jacob and Hattie (Andriesen) Brolsma. He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Hood, Texas, and in Germany, until his honorable discharge in April of 1959.

Survivors include: his wife, Norma Brolsma of rural Sherburn; two sons, Scott Brolsma of Sherburn, and Kent Brolsma of Pemberton; daughter, Kari Ann Brolsma of Sherburn; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Raymond Brolsma of Sherburn, Richard Brolsma of Fairmont, Marlin Brolsma of Blaine; and sister, Marilyn Wert of Wayzata, Minn.
