Terry L. Collins

FAIRMONT — Terry L. Collins was born July 6, 1960, in Fairmont, Minn., to Judy (Carlson) Collins and Lee Collins. He attended Fairmont High School and graduated in 1979. He played football for four years. In that time Judy and Lee divorced and Judy married Roger Jensen. In his senior year his mom and stepdad moved to Spirit Lake, Iowa, but he chose to continue going to school in Fairmont so he could continue playing football for the Cardinals. He lived with his coach Tom Mahoney during this time. After graduation he lived in Texas and worked with his brother, Todd, and later moved to the East Coast where he was a manager supervisor for Virginia Imports. He moved back to Fairmont and married Kathy Roalson, but they later divorced. He began working at Tenth Street Carwash as a detail specialist and then moved on to Hawkins Chevrolet as a detail manager. He met his soulmate, Carol Blair and her daughters, Rochelle and Christine, in August of 2000. They remained in a relationship until his passing on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. His interests included football, NASCAR, shooting pool, boating, and barbequing. He vacationed with Carol and the girls at Lake Okoboji, Iowa, and in Duluth, Minn. His friends often referred to him as TC and Terry the Egg Sucking Dog. He is survived by one sister, Tracy Collins; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Judy Carlson, Lee Collins, Roger Jensen, and Todd Collins. Memorials can be sent to Fairmont Cardinal Association and Martin County Human Society in his memory. A celebration of life will be held this summer with the date, place and time yet to be determined.
