Betty Mae Wise

FAIRMONT — Betty Mae Wise was born Oct. 31, 1937, in Fairmont, Minn., to Harry and Helen Jorgensen. She attended school there and graduated in 1955. Betty developed a passion for sewing and was well known for her ability to make beautiful doll clothes. She loved to travel and constantly explored new horizons while never forgetting her roots in Fairmont.

Betty strived to raise her children to live to their potential and always focused on providing them the best possible resources. She passed away Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020, while in the loving care of Portsmouth Health and Rehab in Portsmouth, Va. Survivors include her brother, Tom Jorgensen of Fairmont; four sons, John Wise of Portsmouth, Va., Thomas Wise of Anacortes, Wash., Michael Beaty of Pine Haven, Wy., Guy Wise of Piedmont, S.D.; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Helen Jorgensen; brothers, Kenneth Jorgensen and Harry Jorgensen Jr.; and sisters, Donna Drobac and Bryce Malo.
