David L. Ebel

SHERBURN — Mass of Christian Burial for David L. Ebel, 66, of Sherburn, Minn., will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, 2020, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn, with Father Jonathan Fasnacht as Celebrant. Those wishing to view a live stream of David’s funeral service may do so on St. Luke’s Facebook page. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the public is encouraged to practice social distancing guidelines and masks are required per church protocol. Burial will be in St. Luke’s Catholic Cemetery, Sherburn, Minn.

David was called to his eternal rest Friday evening, Sept. 25, 2020, at Temperance Lake Ridge in Sherburn, Minn. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Kramer Family Funeral Home in Sherburn, and one hour prior to the mass Friday at the church. David Lavern Ebel was born Jan. 21, 1954, in Rice Lake, Wis., to Lavern and Mary (Kelnhofer) Ebel. He moved with his family to New Ulm, Minn. and graduated from New Ulm High School in 1972. He was united in marriage to Deb Robb, and to this union Angie, Kris and Dave Jr. were born. They later moved to Sherburn. David was employed as a computer programmer for REA in Jackson. David was a faithful member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn. He enjoyed going fishing, hunting, riding his four-wheeler and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his three children, Angie (Chad) Rupprecht of Stroudsburg, Pa., Kris (Justin) Anderson of Lake Crystal, Minn. and Dave Ebel Jr. (Sarah Kate) of Tampa, Fla.; three grandchildren, Logan and Reese Anderson, and Atlas Ebel; father, Lavern Ebel of Sherburn, Minn.; brother, Mark (Anne) Ebel of Los Altos, Calif.; sisters, Marianne (Craig) Peterson of rural Trimont, Minn., and Linda (Mark) Lankford of Bentonville, Ark.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. David was preceded in death by his grandparents; his mother, Mary Ebel; and other relatives. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Options Pregnancy Center in memory of David.
