Beverly J. Oltman

FAIRMONT — A funeral service for Beverly J. Oltman, age 92, of Fairmont, will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont, with private family inurnment in Fairview Memorial Park, Fairmont.

Beverly passed away Friday morning, Sept. 11, 2020, at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Beverly Jean was born Feb. 20, 1928, in Ceylon, Minn., the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Koenecke) Moltzen. Growing up Beverly attended school in Fairmont and was a member of the 1946 graduating class of Fairmont High School. Following graduation, she attended the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis, Minn. On May 27, 1949, Beverly was united in marriage to Gordon W. Oltman at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont. This union was blessed with two children: Steven and Carol. Beverly worked various jobs, including at the Fairmont Canning Company, was a deputy clerk of court at the Martin County Court House, at J.C. Penny, at the Martin County National Bank, and prior to her retirement in 1990, she was a bank teller at Profinium in Fairmont. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was active in the Naomi Circle, the funeral committee, and Marathon Bridge. Beverly was also a member of the VFW and Legion Auxiliary. She especially loved spending time with her family and making special memories with her grandchildren. Beverly will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Steven (Lorrie) Oltman of West Linn, Ore., Carol (Stuart) Hazard of Minneapolis, Minn.; grandchildren, Brittney (Andrew) Mast, Josh Oltman, Sam Oltman, Anna (Adam) Flowers; great-grandchildren, Emi and Daniel; other extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by infant son, Mark Gordon Oltman; sister and brother-in-law, Delores and Ray Dreke; brother and sister-in-law, Thorall and Dorothy Oltman.
