Mary Ruth (Dunn) Bliek was born June 23, 1933, in Grand Junction, Colo., the daughter of Christopher and Hazel (Rhodes) Dunn. After graduating from Sunnydale Academy High School in 1951, Mary furthered her education at USU Nursing School in Moab, Utah, where she earned her nursing degree.

On March 8, 1953, Mary was united in marriage to Marion Bliek in Raton, New Mexico. This union was blessed with eight daughters: Kathy, Jennie, Bernadette, Etta, Donna, Wilma, Marjorie and Angie.

The couple resided in Denver, Colo., before moving to Moab, Utah, and later to Greeley, Colo. Mary worked as a nurse in each of these locations and had earned her LPN before retiring.

She and Marion shared 37 years together before Marion passed away on Aug. 16, 1990. After Marion passed away, Mary moved to Fairmont. Along with being a nurse, Mary worked as a seamstress, as well as enjoying crocheting and sewing.

During her free time, she liked listening to Christian music, playing the piano and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Above all, Mary was always excited to share God’s word with others. She was always there for anyone that needed help and considered her house a safe haven for people who needed it. Her life was led by God and she led others through that great love.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Katherine (Ron) Warren, Jennie (Bryan) Siebuhr, Bernadette Bliek, Etta (Lionel) Sandavol, Donna (Juan) Garcia, Wilhelmina (Rocky) Burns, Marjorie (Kevin) Dollen, and Angelia (Rich) Chenevert; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Charleyne Dunn; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Along with her parents, Chris and Hazel Dunn, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Marion; and brothers, Ralph Dunn, and Glen (Hazel) Dunn.
