Norman Neuenschwander

BELVIDERE, Ill. — Norman Neuenschwander, 91, died Saturday, June 27, 2020. A celebration of his life will be noon Sunday, Aug. 9, at the Ranch Restaurant in Fairmont. Lunch will be provided. Please, no memorials, but sharing of your memories will be appreciated. Internment will be private.

He was born April 7, 1929, in Fairmont, Minn. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and was awarded 2 bronze stars.

He married Valora Fritz on Nov. 19, 1952. The family moved to Belvidere, Ill., in 1966. Valora died March 6, 1973, of colon cancer.

He then married Judith Delp on Nov. 28, 1974.

He retired from the Chrysler plant in 1991.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, Lowell Neuenschwander, Roy (Sue) Neuenschwander; daughters, Tammy (William) Adkins, Lori (Rick) Bettis; stepchildren, Nancy (Jerry) Lawrence, Carol Stegman, Jeff (Teresa) Hyde, Roberta Hyde, Constance Hyde, John (Marzee) Hyde, and Deanna Koruba.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Hilda (Dahl) Neuenschwander; first wife, Valora; brother, Larry Neuenschwander; sisters, Agnes Holter, Peggy Stillwagon, Gladys Have, Delores Bornholdt, Donna Wiedow, and Joyce Scott.
