CEYLON — A public graveside service for Dean A. Koehler, 50, of rural Ceylon, Minn., will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2020, at Lake Belt Cemetery, rural Ceylon, with visitation from 1-2 p.m. Friday at the cemetery. Family and friends are asked to bring their own lawn chairs for the service.

Dean died Saturday, July 25, 2020, at his home in rural Ceylon.

Dean Allen Koehler was born May 24, 1970, in Fairmont, Minn., to Warren and Sue Koehler. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon. Dean graduated from Ceylon High School in 1988. He attended Mankato Technical College for auto mechanics.

Dean was united in marriage to Melanie Alsdorf and was blessed with two children, Josh and Emma.

Dean was a great mechanic, loved to talk to people, shoot trap at the Truman Gun Club and golf. He also enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and most featured Case IH equipment. He was a farm boy at heart.

He is survived by his son, Josh Koehler of Mankato, Minn.; daughter, Emma Koehler of Fairmont; father, Warren (Kay) Koehler of St. Peter, Minn.; sister, Sheri (Jeff) Markquart of rural Sherburn, Minn.; special friend, Jackie Keeler and her son, Michael Holtz of rural Ceylon and her daughter, Karly Deling of Fairmont; niece, Steph (Barry) Kneeland and their kids, Macie and Nolan of Sherburn; nephew, Josh Markquart of rural Dunnell, Minn.; aunt, Marlene Fuller of Rogers, Minn.; cousin, Mark (Sarah) Fuller of Otsego, Minn.; brother-in-law and life-time friend, Jason Alsdorf of Spirit Lake, Iowa.

Dean was preceded in death by his mother, Sue Koehler; cousin, Jason Fuller; maternal grandparents, Bill and Alice Johnson; and paternal grandparents, Elmer and Emma Koehler.
