Glenda Rae (Vanden Bosch) Hugget was born Jan. 4, 1947, in Orange City, Iowa, to Theodore and Margaret (Hulst) Vanden Bosch. She was the 6th of 10 kids born and the firstborn in a hospital and not on the farm. Glenda attended country school in the Boyden and Sheldon, Iowa area in her younger years and spent her high school years at Lake Park High School in Lake Park, Iowa, where she graduated in 1965. On Sept. 17, 1965, Glenda was united in marriage to Donald R. Von Holdt in Lake Park, Iowa. To this union, Glenda and Donald were blessed with two sons: Robert Ray Von Holdt and William John Von Holdt. Donald passed away on July 25, 1974, at the young age of 36. Glenda found love again, and on Aug. 17, 1975, she was united in marriage to Elwood “Woody” Hugget in Spirit Lake, Iowa. To this union they were blessed with a daughter: Cassandra “Cassie” Hugget, along with his children Sandra, Woody, and Debbie. Glenda and Woody made their home in Fairmont, Minn. for 38 years living on Budd Lake for many of those years. Woody passed away on March 15, 2008. Glenda had a passion for children and spent 30 plus years as a daycare provider. Those children in her care she loved like her own grandkids and built unbreakable bonds with them even in their adult lives. Glenda also sold Tupperware for over 25 years and loved it dearly. Through her Tupperware business, many lifelong friends were made. Glenda also dabbled in Avon and made many friends through her Avon business as well. Glenda found love again when she met her sweetheart, Randy David Garrison. She loved him fiercely and enjoyed every moment she could spend with him, whether it would be fishing, or listening to his music, or their trips up north, anytime with Randy left Glenda glowing. Glenda also loved her kids, grandkids, and great-granddaughter very much. She had so much love to give and it extended well beyond her immediate family. Anyone who knew Glenda, also knew how proud she was of her Dutch heritage. You could hear her say with a big smile on her face, “If you ain’t Dutch, you ain’t much.” She would also always tell those that she loved, “Love you more.” It became her staple so to speak. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Robert (Heidi) Von Holdt of Granada, Minn., William Von Holdt of Fairmont, MN, Cassandra “Cassie” Hugget of Fairmont, Debbie (Jason) Goodin of Smithfield, Va., her grandkids Haylee Von Holdt, Carlee Vanasse, Loreli Grapevine, Christian Hugget, Cody Goodin, Cory Goodin, Angel Salas, Israel Salas, Magdalena Salas; great-granddaughter Alaris Von Holdt, her siblings, Thelma Van Nyhuis, Evelyn Jacobsma, Lorraine Egdorf, Ken Vanden Bosch, Terry Vanden Bosch; her adopted daughters, Martha Perez of Lakota, Iowa, and Rhonda Fenner of Truman, Minn.; the love of her life, Randy David Garrison of Northrop, Minn.; many other family and friends. Glenda was preceded in death by her parents Theodore and Margaret Vanden Bosch; late husband, Donald Von Holdt; late husband, Woody Hugget; sister, Shirley Morrow; brother-in-law, Lee Morrow; brothers, Gary and Leroy Vanden Bosch; brother-in-law, Gene Egdorf; brother-in-law, John Wesselink; and infant sister, Patty Vanden Bosch.
