NEW ULM — Mary Lou (Colton) Day, age 90, of New Ulm, Minn., passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2020. A celebration of life service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 25, at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-South Chapel in New Ulm, with visitation beginning 9:30 a.m. Internment will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Lakeside Cemetery, Fairmont.

Mary Lou (Colton) Day was born July 23, 1929, in Winnebago, Minn., to George and Mabel (Sage) Colton.

She was married to Richard Day on Nov. 23, 1952, at the Congregational Church in Fairmont, Minn.

Mary Lou is survived by her five children: William Day (Corinne) of New Ulm, Christine Binder (Allan) of St George, Pamela Wester (Robert – deceased) of New Ulm, Bryan Day (Panatda) of Bakersfield, Calif., and Dr./Rev. Rebecca Day-Swain (Elijah); her grandchildren, David, Bryan Jr., Alex, Ben, Teresa, Sara, Brittany (Bubba), and Colton; great-grandchildren, Nadia, Dominic, Dale, Haley, Dustin, Noah and Jessa; two sister in-laws, Marge Colton and Donna Schaefer; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents, Mabel and George Colton; siblings, Flora, Hazel (Larson), Stanley, Lina (Fritz Frisbie), Daniel and William; sisters-in-law, Alice Colton, Gladys Colton and Dolores Theobald; brothers-in-law, Edwin Larson, Harold Fritz, William Schaefer, Lucian Theobald; and son-in-law, Robert Wester.
