Ramon Rowan

FARMINGTON — Ramon “Ray” Rowan, age 74, of Farmington, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2020. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday July 14, 2020, at White Funeral Home, 12804 Nicollet Ave. S. in Burnsville, with a visitation from 5-8 p.m. Monday, July 13, and one hour prior to the service July 14, all at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, with military honors conducted by Lakeville VFW Post 210. A celebration of life will continue after the burial at the American Legion in Savage.

Ray was born July 26, 1945, in Martin County, Minn., to Vern and Ruby (Yackle) Rowan. Ray graduated from Granada High School in 1963. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Ray married Peggy Hewitt on Sept. 11, 1971, in Mankato. He was a lifetime member of Rochester Pipe Fitters Local Union 6, and also a member of the Lakeville VFW 210. Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; and parents, Vern and Ruby. He is survived by his son, Lenny of Ham Lake; two daughters, Laurinda Rowan-Lee of Albert Lea, and Tally and her husband, Joseph Rokosz of North Mankato; grandchildren, Philip, Jesse, Serena, Jayda, Kaitlyn Jasper, Derek, Tramaine, Jake, and Jarvis; great-grandchildren, Athena, Abel, Aiden, Addilyn, Davina and Abagail; siblings, Wanda Johnson, Gayle Larkin, Judy O’Brien, Sherry Larson, Vern “Butch” Rowan, Joy Pollock, Rita Craven, Randy Rowan, Lori Baker, Jon Rowan, Terry Rowan, and Karen Huss; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. “He was short, he was wise, he was a terror for his size.” In lieu of flowers, memorial will be donated to DAV (Disabled American Veterans).
