Marlin Paulson

ARMSTRONG — A graveside service for Marlin Paulson, 84, of Armstrong was held June 3 at High Lake Cemetery, rural Wallingford.

Paulson died peacefully Friday, May 29, 2020, at Valley Vue Assisted Living in Armstrong.

He was born May 19, 1936, to Gunder and Lila (Williams) Paulson.

Marlin married the love of his life, Carolyn Ruth Harvego, on Oct. 24, 1959, and together they raised their son Barry and daughter Sherry in the Armstrong/ Halfa area.

Marlin enjoyed living on the farm with the fresh air, working the land, and raising and showing quarter horses.

He was an U.S. Army veteran, a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong and a friend to everyone he met.

Marlin worked at Art’s Way Manufacturing for 56 years, organized and enjoyed many bus tours to Branson and enjoyed going to sprint car races.

Left to cherish Marlin’s memory are his wife of 60 years, Carolyn of Armstrong; children, Barry Paulson and Sherry Paulson, both of Estherville; grandchildren, Jakob and Garrett Paulson; brother, Arnold Paulson; sisters, Aileen Rienhardt, Pauline Solberg and Karen (Gary) Thackery, all of Armstrong.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gunder and Lila; brothers, Richard and Ernie; sister, Marion Paulson, daughter-in-law, Teresa (Thoreson) Paulson; and his “special brother” Denny Theesfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Avera Home Health and Hospice.
