FAIRMONT — Private family services for Jerome “Jerry” E. Nolte, age 83, of Brainerd, formerly of Fairmont and Eden Prairie, Minn., will be held Saturday, March 21, 2020, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Burial will be held at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery, Fairmont.

Jerry passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020, at St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minn.

Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jerome Edward Nolte was born March 27, 1936, in Fairmont, Minn., to Alvin and Hazel (Ledebur) Nolte. He graduated from Fairmont High School. Jerry entered the U.S. Army National Guard on Jan. 24, 1954, and was honorably discharged on Jan. 25, 1958.

Jerry was united in marriage to Sharon Nolte on March 15, 1957, in Fairmont. This marriage was blessed with two sons, Mark and Randy.

After their marriage, Jerry and Sharon lived in Bloomington, Eden Prairie and most recently in Brainerd, Minn. Jerry worked as an optician at Benson Optical and retired in April 2001.

He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood, Minn.

He was also a member of Cuyana Rolling Hills Golf Course, where he loved spending many hours golfing and visiting with his friends. He also enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. Jerry loved to be out on his pontoon cruising the lake and cherished his time spent with family.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Sharon Nolte of Brainerd; sons, Mark Nolte of Brainerd, and Randy (Diane) Nolte of Norwood Young America; grandchildren, Nathan Nolte of Belle Plaine, Josh Nolte of Duluth, Minn., and Paige Nolte of Norwood Young America; sister-in-law, Cindy Kollofski; brother-in-law, John Kollofski; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Hazel Nolte; grandmother, Elizabeth Nolte; two sisters, June Sliger and Janet Burmeister.
